When I first looked at this photo I thought it was very simple but upon closer look in its simplicity is a complexity I did not expect.

I love the color of the photo's background and how the Prairie Dog almost blends in with the background. I like how the background, though all the same brownish tones, is not completely brown and has some lights and darks in it, but not enough that makes it too noticeable or take away from the overall picture.

The lighting and how it is hitting the tummy of the Prairie Dog gives it a very profound appeal. He looks strong with the light on his stomach. Almost as if he is puffing out his chest, chin up, and proud. For such a simple pose he seems very strong and important, I like it. The details in the Prairie Dog's fur are great and not washed out or lost with the similar colored background.

Lovely job, like I said, it seems like a simple photograph from the start but when looking at it in detail I find it very complex and stunning.

Cute! The colours work perfectly and you have used a shallow depth of field to its full advantage in this shot. Really well done. :)
